2013 IN REVEIW - Welcome 2014

As with everything, there is a beginning and an end.  The year 2013 has ended and 2014 has begun.

Many people have made resolutions, wish lists, bucket lists, set goals, or whatever we want to call them for things they want to accomplish this year.  I too am guilty of making some of these and yes, I am equally as guilty of not following through on them.

In my opinion the easiest way to accomplish things in life is to have a plan.  This not only applies to your professional life, but to your leisure life as well.  For me, since retiring at the age of 56 my professional and leisure lives have combined into one.

Traveling and writing were by-products of my profession.  I traveled where my employer sent me and my writing was instructional, technical, and rather mundane.  That has all changed, thanks to you.

Here's a brief look at 2013, my year in review.

NICARAGUA - Tips and Reviews - UPDATED OCTOBER 2013

GENERAL TRAVEL TIPS FOR NICARAGUA
(Specific locations are below)

As with everything you do, do it with a positive attitude.  We’ve heard a lot of clichés but one that I think fits here is “if life gives you lemons, make lemon aide”.  Damn man, I’ve seen too many people piss and moan about the weather, where they are, who they’re with, excreta, but they DO NOT make any attempt to change anything and move on.  If you take a positive attitude where ever you go, the people you talk too, places you see, and most everything else will be good.  With one major exception, we can’t change the weather so suck it up, be prepared to change your plans to inside activities or plan on being hot, cold, or wet.  It’s life, live it.

I’ll be lonely today even though I know loneliness is only a myth. But, but, but… It feels so real and everyone experiences it. How can it be a myth?

FLORIDA - Jupiter - Apr/Jul 2013 - House Sitting - Chapter 3 - Update

Where the Loxahatchee River meets the Atlantic Ocean
  21 - 29 April 2013

Well it’s slightly over a week since dropping off the home owners at a local airport and beginning my latest house sitting assignment.  After driving around the area a little I’ve scouted out places to fish, eat, hike, and take day trips; all without leaving the town of Jupiter.  Since this assignment is for three months my area of travel will surely grow.  As to how far my travels will expand, what other towns, beaches, parks, eateries, we’ll have to wait and see.  One thing for sure there is plenty to see and do in South Florida.
